Robbie Williams (born 13 February 1974)
After frequently battleing with fellow band members and management, Robbie left the band in 1995.
After leaving Take That, Robbie had a
highly publicised battle with drug and alcohol addiction. Robbie was predicted to never be a success after
a well-publicised fallout with Oasis, Noel Gallagher famously refused to recognise him as anything but "that fat dancer from Take That".
He launched his solo career in 1996.
"Angels" is the song credited with single-handedly rescuing Robbie's career, and has proved to be one of his most popular yet.
Robbie has gone on to become one of the most successful male solo artists ever.
Robbie will take his place in the 2007 Guiness World Records after selling more than 1.6 million (estimated £80 million) tickets in one day for his 2006 world tour. He has snatched the record from N'sync who had previously sold 1 million tickets. |
